I am so sorry I did not include this comment:
- Skin Type: Redness prone, extremely sensitive, acne-prone, oily, Rosacea
- Skin Concerns: Redness, acne, reactivity
- Skin Goals: Clear, less sensitive, redness controled
Please take this with a grain of salt, these tips are specific to me but I hope you can takeaway something helpful for your routine! The biggest take-away for Rosacea is, you can not get it under control without prescription medication.
AM Routine:
- Washing Hand like you’re about to perform surgery, room temp/cold water
- CeraVa Foaming Facial Cleanser (Seems sticky at first, but is a beautifully gentle foaming cleanser – I wouldn’t use anything different ever again. Cannot reccomend this enough. I was using Cetaphil Redness prone cleanser and it doesn’t even come close to comparing. I makes my skin cleaner, feel smoother, and less irritated. I don’t feel like it takes my skin with it when it washes off. You can scrub hard ((you shouldn’t)) and skin won’t react)
- Glyone Enhance Brightening Solution (Toner replacement, super light, drys quickly, makes my skin a little tingly or itchy on acne for until it tries)
- Azelaic Acid Gel (Prescription for acne, thick and doesn’t spread well, smells like old people)
- Avene Tolerance Emulsion (Moisturizer, a little thick but wears well – Doesn’t make you look shiny or oily. I enjoy wearing this with makeup)
- Collagen Gel under eyes (Not derm recommended but I use for under eye wrinkles. Smooth and a little too gel-y, but I use less to mitigate that)
- CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion (SPF30) (Not my favorite, smells like sunscreen and doesn’t spread easily) —> I am switching to Eminence Red Currant Protective Moisturizer
PM Routine
- Washing Hand like you’re about to perform surgery, room temp/cold water
- CeraVa Foaming Facial Cleanser
- Metronidazole Gel (Rosacea, super gelly but spreads well. This is a perscription)
- Cerave PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion (Favorite forever, so thin and lights. Spreads well. Smells lovely. Never irritates my skin)
- Langeige Water Sleeping Mask (Maybe once a week if my skin is looking dry. Cooling, calming, thicker but airy, smells like divine perfume)
Recommended Products:
- The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% (Acne Moisturizer, I would use this if I wasn’t using Azelaic Acid Gel. )
- Eminence Red Currant Protective Moisturizer (Sensitive Skin, SPF Moisturizer)
- CLn Cleanser (Rosacea, red-ness prone, sensitive skin)
Dermatologist Opinions:
- Less is always going to be more
- Exfoliate at most, once/week – with a gentle exfoliator (I use Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant)
- Does not believe in Toner, I’ve been using the Gytone in replace of toner and it’s been a noticeably positive change
- Gauze pads for your toner (or whatever you use on this step), not the cloth nail polish pads, not your hands, not fabric.
- Products with oil will make me break out
- CeraVe > Cetaphil
- Wash your face cloths separately from your laundry, use Tide Free & Gentle (or the like)
- Do not use drier sheets for face cloths
