Sure, when they were on sale Monday for $139, or renewed Edifier R1850DB are $159.

Or if increasing your budget, better passive speakers and use the split method, Fluance Ai40 $169.

The larger Fluance Ai60 $249 have a sub out jack and also add USB and optical inputs.

Or for the $199 new Edifier price, I would go with a better and more flexible passive speakers and a mini amp.

Small desk: Micca MB42X $79 or the better Micca RB42 $149 that can go lower and some don’t end up adding a subwoofer too.
