I wanna get a new keyboard, and I’ve narrowed it down to two Keyboards that I like. The Durgod Taurus K320 TKL Wired Mechanical Gaming Keyboard or the Cooler Master Masterkeys MK730.
One one hand I really like the design of the Taurus, with the frame that makes the board look more compact instead of having the keys on a flat surface, and the colour scheme is very nice as well. It also comes with the Cherry Red Silent keys right away which is good because I’m looking for a quieter keyboard. It sounds really nice to me and they keycaps are much higher quality. But the cable that it comes with isn’t braided. I’m guessing they’re expecting you to buy your own custom cable which I probably won’t do. Also I’m pretty sure the company that makes it is based in China which I’m kind of iffy about.
On the other hand the Coolermaster keyboard is cheaper, and comes with a braided cable and a wrist rest which I probably need. It also has RGB, which is nice even though I don’t care much about it one way or the other anymore. But the keycaps are lower quality and I’ve seen them get pretty greasy and gross (along with the wrist rest), and I really hate the flat aluminum surface board design a lot of keyboards seem to be going with. It also only comes with the normal Cherry Reds rather than the silent version, and overall doesn’t sound as nice as the Taurus. I guess I could just buy the switches I want later, but it would cost more money overall rather than if I just got those switches with the keyboard straight away.
So which one should I get? I’m pretty new to mechanical keyboards still, if that makes any difference.
