What is the opinion of Reddit about the
Drop CTRL Mechanical Keyboard — Tenkeyless TKL (87 Key) Gaming Keyboard, Hot-Swap Switches, Programmable Macros, RGB LED Backlighting, USB-C, Doubleshot PBT, Aluminum Frame (Cherry MX Brown, Black)?

Drop CTRL is pretty good and has a low profile and high profile variant in that price range. They might do shitty business practice (BOB Artisan key) and QC on what they sell (Holy Panda switches), but their keyboard is pretty decent. All Aluminum case, and has hotswap PCB so you can pull out the switches and replace them without soldering. Link is Amazon so you don’t need to sign up for Drop to see the keyboard, but buying directly from Drop should save you $20-50 before shipping

1. Cherry MX Silent Red’s or equivalant from another MFG. Also, put foam in the KB between the PCB and the case bottom.

2. Not my area, so I’ll deffer elsewhere.

3. Ah, ignore the Silent Red recommendation above. Possibly MX Clear’s with an ‘O’-ring mod.

4. Since you need functionality for work, you might consider an 1800 layout like this. Otherwise the Drop CTRL is TKL and hotswapable.
