I’m thinking about buying a programmable 75% keyboard with red switches like this DREVO keyboard to play AoE4.
The idea is to not have any space between number keys and function keys so I can reprogram F1 through F5 into numbers 6 through 0. This gives easier access to more control groups of units/building.
Now my question is what’s the best way to implement this idea? I know there are scripts or registry edits or keyboard manufacturer’s softwares. But is there one way that’s better than all the others? especially if I want to switch it back to normal when not playing RTS games.
Secondly of course, is there any recommendation for a nice keyboard that’s not too expensive to purchase (<$120-150 CAD at most) in Canada? For example, how is this DREVO keyboard manufacturer’s reputation? I’m not familiar with what issues one can run into with keyboards but I’m currently using a CM Storm quickfire TK red from 2012 and it’s still going strong (except keycaps on S and D key melted away so I switched them out with a couple of keycaps not frequently used on the other side of the keyboard). Can I expect my new purchase to last as long?

I’m sending my G413 from Logitech back to Amazon.
I had paid 34.90 for it so.. that was a great deal but it’s just not for me: too big (i prefer tenkeyless layout) and switches are a bit mushy. They’re anyway great in gaming but the keycaps feel horrible under my fingers.

Do you think it could be a good buy? I’ve read some time ago, they had input lag problems but some people stated they should have solved it.
In the amazon page i do not even read about anti-ghosting, so is it featured or i will have problems?
I cannot add more money, it costs 40 euros and i’m already out of budget considering i need a new mouse as well and i have very limited budget for that in any case.
