I’m brand new to the mechanical keyboard scene so I apologize in advance if this is a dumb question. I am trying to build my first keyboard based on the YMDK Hot swap 96 key layout (1800 compact? I’m not sure of the official name).
The only part I don’t fully understand finding a keycap set. I want to get an SA profile, but I am unsure of what keycap sets to buy. Everything with the 96 key seems to be identical to a full size, outside of a smaller shift and zero/insert key.
Here is an example of a full size SA keyset I’m looking at: https://www.amazon.com/Domikey-doubleshot-Classic-Keyboard-AllinOne/dp/B083XQP673/ref=sr_1_40?dchild=1&keywords=sa+keycaps&qid=1617771420&sr=8-40
Here is the 96 key (layout B) that I am looking at: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32993698879.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.616c3c00fQJudJ&mp=1
If I were to buy a full sized keycap set, would it be compatible with the 96 key layout?
If this won’t fit properly, are there any places I could find 96 key SA or dsa keycap sets? Do I just need to look for the “XD96” tag to guarantee fitting?
