So I ended up taking all of it back, haha.
I kind of went a liiiiittle over budget. I got all the Klipsch gear set up and was pretty unimpressed for what I paid. The R-26F’s didn’t sound bad but I wasn’t blown away or anything. Also the R-10SW is quite boomy, which is partially a function of terrible room acoustics, but it is kind of a one-note wonder. When I hauled it all back to Best Buy I went in their Magnolia demo room and was demoing several nicer mid-range bookshelf options, and when I heard the DefTech Demand D9’s I creamed myself. Found a set “open box/like new condition” on Amazon for $260 less than Best Buy was asking for them ($749), and pulled the trigger. Swapped the sub for an Emotiva BasX S10 which will show up in a few days, and returned the (perfectly decent) Yamaha amp and found a beautiful Marantz SR5009 on Craigslist for $250.
