I use and would happily recommend to anyone getting into mini painting this lamp which can be used either freestanding or clamped to the side of the desk https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002XVPQP8
Only thing i would also recommend is buying a metal clamp like this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00MNZULKY to use with it, as while the plastic one that came with it was fine and does the job, it was flimsy enough to cause the light to start wobbling if you bumped the desk. With the metal clamp its always firm and steady.
I personally found that getting this light was a huge upgrade from a basic spot light with a daylight bulb in it that i had been using previously, as it easily lights up the whole of my desk instead of only lighting the small immediate area i am working in meaning i can spread myself out a bit more across the work area without any loss of light quality.
