I’ve read great reviews on that one. But living in Canada, the price of shipping, import, taxes and etc almost doubles when you buy from independent US sites. Is there really none that’s good in Amazon? A few hours ago, I’ve purchased this belt. But if I could find a better one, I’d cancel it asap.

If you’re not thinking of being a professional power lifter, and just want to get to a 4,3,2,1 levels for the compound lifts, does the quality of a lifting belt really matter? I’d be using it 3 times a week for a couple compound lifts, and I don’t know that I’ll be lifting heavy for the rest of my life.
Why pay more than $40 for this lifting belt?

I guess, for the average gym-goer would that belt be fine? Or is there another one on amazon that’s a comparable price that would be better?

This is the belt I use. Doesn’t have to be anything super crazy. This belt has great reviews, and I absolutely love it as well.
As for when to start using a belt, it depends on the strength of your core and back. The more you use a belt, the more you potentially weaken these muscles because they aren’t handling as much of a load. I feel fairly comfortable up to 315, beyond that, I really like the extra support.
·
Yeah I’m only gonna use it on my 1+ sets and take it off after that. Maybe for also the set after. On t2 and light days, no belt.

I’m using this one. Only had it for a couple of weeks, but it seems very tough and provides plenty of support.

I see people on here talking about Inzer and Best Belts. They seem very customizable to your individual preference as you become more advanced and know what you are looking for. Would the belt I linked below be okay as a beginner belt? If not, what should I be looking for in a belt?

I’d take a look at this one. They are a small company that seems like they are just starting out. I bought one, and then got an email from one of the co-owners thanking me, and saying I have lifetime guarantee / free replacement on the belt, plus a 90% off any other products they make in the future. Right now, thats not many, but they just sent out an email to the registered customers saying they were making lifting straps and wrist straps as well soon, in addition to clothing. Really awesome customer service
The belt itself is solid. Feels (and smells nicely) like genuine leather. Not like that cardboard-y imitation leather you see some “leather” products are made of. Not to mention, when you order it, its not ultra stiff. I can take a picture of mine when I get home, if you want proof.

I got this one from Amazon. I’ve only had it for 3 months, but it seems to be high quality and has held up well, I’d definitely recommend
