Dear OP, you can also try these speakers, they include a little subwoofer that will make them sound “fuller”. In this price rage it’s hard to find real audiophile grade PC (powered) speakers:

I’ve had these speakers for over a year now and I love them. You can also opt out for the cheaper alternative without the subwoofer.

Damn, I’m surprised you can tell what they are.. on the off chance you’re looking at another set, here is the exact model.
Nah, I’m with you, I bought mine for the same exact reasons.. something simple, with little footprint, when i don’t feel like keeping my headset on 🤷🏻♀️ .
Keep in mind, I’m not an audiophile, so my grading rubric is literally three things:
• Can I easily adjust the volume?
• Is there any obvious static?
• How much range does it have?
I’ve had them for a couple of years now and no complaints so far.. please remember that my bar is pretty damn low though 👌🏻 ~

If you want a budget option for a desktop go with the pebble speakers, the base isn’t that great on the sub considering its usb-powered but for $35 that can’t be beat

Great value for only 40$. I used these on my build and watch Netflix, YouTube, game, and listen to music with them. Zero complaints.

I bought these because of the lower profile of the speakers, and the subwoofer sits nice and snug in the bottom of the cabinet:

The speakers work great! However, I can’t seem to get sound to play on the game’s anymore if anyone can help out? They arcade image has music playing at the beginning with no issues, but the games themselves in-play and for the previews there’s nothing. Everything worked great for a couple weeks, so I’m not sure what happened? I’m using a 3.5 mm jack.

Creative Pebble with the Subwoofer is hard to beat at just under $40.
·
I have the ones with the sub. But to be fair I don’t think it does much. link
·
Amazon links are fine, you just have to remove the ref part.
From what I’ve heard from audio folks, this is a quality budget set

Here are some suggestions:
Keep in mind that you’ll want a subwoofer to go with your speakers since that extra bass will be worth it.

From everything I’ve seen, the Pebbles are the best speaker that fit your form factor and price range. Bose is more of a name than anything else and probably will not be a noticeable upgrade at all. Your best bet other than building your own speakers is probably to keep using the Pebbles and maybe add or get the subwoofer version of them https://www.amazon.com/Creative-USB-Powered-Down-Firing-Subwoofer-Far-Field/dp/B07NWLWM9B

(You’d have to get a small desktop amp to go with these, along with the tools and ability to build them)

This looks like the highest rated cheapo 2.1 PC speakers: https://www.amazon.com/Creative-USB-Powered-Down-Firing-Subwoofer-Far-Field/dp/B07NWLWM9B
Most people on here would recommend against going with these kind of systems, once you hear real non-plastic speakers you can never go back to something like that.
