It is normal for the cheap stock caps. Mine came off even typing. They are so cheap and flimsy that the switch connector stretches out and/or breaks. The solution is to get a pbt keycaps set like this

I had thought about getting these, but this is kinda petty but I do not like how they handled the page up, page down, the print screen, and a few other keys abbreviation. I think it is interesting you cannot see it on their website but here is the amazon link to it. Like however the second pic and you can see what I mean. I fully acknowledge that its kinda picky thing to say but I do not know, I am not fan of those abbreviations. Thank you thought for the aliexpress reference as well.

You will need to try to find an aftermarket keyset that is compatible with the board due to the nonstandard bottom row. I know Corsair sells DoubleShot PBT caps on Amazon, but they are a little overpriced. Vortex has a set here that I know for certain is compatible, as I used to have a K70 and that is what I used.

Otherwise, a lot of keycaps have similar profiles if based on the same style mech. Like look into some HyperX puddings or something. And also hit up corsair support

Apparently corsair doubleshot pbt keycaps fit perfectly inside because the k70 and the g710+ share the same bottom row.
They’re way more durable than the og g710+ keycaps and are on amazon

A nice little extra “touch” to the K95 Plat is the PBT Double-Shot keycaps. They feel amazing, and almost make it a deeper sound when keys are pressed.

Basically the bottom row of keycaps (ctrl, alt spacebar) arent standard sized, so you need to find a set that will fit. Your size chart is here

These are corsairs official ones all will fit and light will shine through
these are cheaper ones, blank no light will shine through, will fit apart from spacebar.

Thinking of getting the Corsiar K70 LUX RGB with MX Blues but I want to know if I’ve missed any other options. I mainly chose the K70 for the whole package it offers:
- Volume rocker / media controls
- Armrest
- RGB lighting
- Cherry MX Blues
I’ve also looked at the Cooler Master Masterkey Pro L as a backup in case I can’t get a hold of a K70 with blues ( RIP armrest and Volume rocker ), iKBC F108 and Ducky Shine 6 but people seem to have varying stories about the MX blue versions of those keyboards being rough and scratchy. Also my area seems to not really carry the lesser known brands so it’s hard to get a hold of them brand new which I don’t want to compromise on (It’s my first keyboard purchase since the 1990s so I want a brand spanking new toy and not some second hand refurbished with mysterious flaws/damage that I’ll find out later on).
I was also originally considering the G610 but no rgb/armrest so I looked at the 810 but then I tried the Romer-G switches and it felt horrible compared to the MX Blues. Did some looking around and found the K70 which pretty much fit the bill for me. I don’t mind the non-standard keycaps, I’m not really planning to customize much and I found this which looks promising enough for the long haul, though I would have preferred the old font of the original K70, not really a fan of these new fatter fonts they use ( if anyone has any suggestions for this that’d be nice ).
My budget isn’t really set in stone per se but staying under or near $150 would be nice. I’m not really against shelling out money for quality products though so feel free to suggest even the $200 ones if they really are the good shit.
So short and sweet I’m looking for other options that fit this criteria:
- RGB Lighting
- Volume rocker / media controls
- Cherry MX Blues switches
- Full-sized
- Pricing would be preferred around $150 but no real ceiling set.
- NOT RAZER
NOTE: Lesser known brands are harder to get because of my location so if at all possible I’d like to stick with the bigger names like Corsair, Logitech, Cooler Master and the like but suggestions are always welcome.
