I know you say your budget is $100, but I’ve got a K70 with a volume wheel, so I know it works real well
Depending, it’ll run ‘ya about $100 Really nice keyboard, though.

Go with one of these
That’s a very good keyboard. The people on /r/mechanicalkeyboards don’t like them, but they are very very particular. They swap out keys, put completely blank ones on there, and try to get them as absolutely tiny as they possibly can. I highly recommend The K70. If you aren’t a fan of the speed keys, you can get other variants.

Any recommendation for a keyboard under $100 on Amazon?
I would be using it mainly for gaming/typing on my home desktop. I do live with two roommates though, so I need something not super noisy, and based on some basic research, it seems Cherry MX red is the way to go?

I was looking at those and the STRAFE for 69.99 which seem reasonably priced and have good reviews, but going through this forum, it seems people don’t like Corsair very much.
Any advice? I’m a total beginner at this, never had a mechanical keyboard before.

Yeah, this is what I have, it would suck to lose that backlighting feature, hence, the reason for this post.

For me flashy RGB lights weren’t worth the extra cost. Got this instead

Should I get this keyboard or this?
I will be using this keyboard for gaming

The razer switches arent that good compared to mx,all that “tactile switches” razer is selling you is bullshit imo, their keyboard aren’t that good, the k70 are close to your price range but they have mx speeds, the speeds have less of travel distance compared to the others, you can also look at the logitech g710 allthough that one has mx browns, if you really want mx reds try the CM storm Quickfire. Also here is a youtube video to help you determine the switches you want
