I’m not sure why I rarely see any of the off brands on this thread. It’s stainless steel and aluminum with large rivets on a handle, it’s not super complicated. This entire set is the price of a single All Clad pan and likely doesn’t have any major flaws. I’ve been using my set basically daily for the past 8 years and have experienced zero issues. What am I missing? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00421AYJK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_f5q.Fb0HESJWH

Cook’s Standard Muli-ply.

Stainless steel, aluminum core cooking set that’s as good as (or almost as good as) All Clad or Calphalon, but for hundreds of dollars less. I bought a set, and I liked it so much that I recommended it to my sister when she needed new pots and pans. She bought it, and loves it, too.

A good alternative to nonstick are stainless steel pots/pans. I agree that All Clad are the way to go for those, more so the stainless steel. But if you want a great set while you save up for the All Clad, the [Cooks Standard Set](www.amazon.com/dp/B00421AYJK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_RmqfFbAM4C8CZ) will last years and the set contains most of the pieces you’ll need.

I find that most nonstick won’t last more than 2-3 years so I don’t invest in any particular brand or set. Have not used the All Clad nonstick ones but they have 2 lines, a cheaper made in China version with a limited warranty, and a made in USA more expensive version. Looking at the warranty, I worry they won’t honor it for scratches and normal wear and tear, but I don’t have firsthand knowledge. Maybe someone else can answer. Good luck!

I’ve had this set: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00421AYJK/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
since 2014. It gets used nearly every day and so far the only problem I’ve had is that the outside of the frying pans get burn marks on them and I don’t have enough strength even with Barkeepers Friend (which I highly recommend) to get rid of them.
They do take a bit of getting used to and you can expect to have things stick until you get the hang of them. You don’t need a lot of oil. I think the biggest mistake people make is not letting the pan heat up properly before putting your food in, especially meats.

I have had this set for over five years and they are fantastic. I haven’t used All-Clad, but I just don’t see how you could get much better than what these pans have delivered – at half the price.

I don’t have a cast iron yet. It was just a 10 inch stainless steel skillet (The one in this set http://www.amazon.com/Cooks-Standard-Multi-Ply-Stainless-Steel-10-Piece/dp/B00421AYJK ). I let it heat up for about 4-5 mins on high.
