You could try an alarm clock on wheels that rolls away when it goes off. You then have to get up to turn it off and once you’re up, you’re more likely to stay awake and can look at the sun/splash water etc like u/glassklokken suggests.
If you still have trouble, see your doctor to check for depression or a sleep disorder.
Wishing you the best with this, OP! Sleep issues are tough!

I liked the idea of the alarm clock with wheels that would suddenly run off to some random corner of the room requiring you to hunt it down. I bet that would work really well for me. Until I threw it against the wall, of course.

Then have him set two alarms – one a gradual sunshine simulator, and the other one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Clocky-Rolling-Sleeper-Bed-Room-Run-away/dp/B000PWLTNA
Perhaps a third alarm like they have for deaf people that goes under the bed and vibrates it.
I am reasonably sure that if he can wake up when you shake him, he can wake up to an extremely obnoxious alarm.
Or, if he really can’t, then he should have gotten up the first time you told him you were leaving and would not be there to help him up later.

There’s little robots that start blaring an alarm and rolling around your house and you have to go catch it to turn it off. I’ve never needed it, but I love the idea of such a chaotic start to each morning.

They spend so much to train you, it’s true. There’s an alarm you can buy for people like you. It has wheels and when it goes off it drives away so you have to get up to turn it off.

Maybe try a clocky? It might help if you have to get up to shut it off?

I still sleep pretty badly on lexapro, so getting up is more of ‘oh god it’s morning already?!?’ Situation.

“J-Just for that master, I’m gonna turn into one of these!“

That’s good!! There’s also the alarm clock that runs away from you, and the one you need to stand on to turn it off, or the gentle wakeup that I used for years in high school so she starts coming into lighter stages of sleep before actually waking up. Just some ideas!

Its only 3 1/2 stars, but check this out:https://www.amazon.com/Clocky-Original-Runaway-Wheels-Sleepers/dp/B000PWLTNA

Slightly cheaper than the floor mat is the clocky. Makes you chase it around the room to snooze it.
·
Try an alarm clock that runs away from you. Tell if it works.

Ne me remercie pas, au bout d’un moment ça coûte cher ces conneries.
·
Reminds me of this alarm. If you press snooze more than once, it takes off blaring across the room
·
You need one of these

Clocky is your solution. Bought one for my girlfriend a couple weeks ago and it is most effective.
·
couldn’t you snap a picture of the QR code, print it out, and place it next to your side table? So that you could just print that?
Seems like an easy to defeat thing. Not as easily defeated as This one that runs away from you
And what happens if you’re traveling and don’t have the QR Code in the bathroom of your hotel room?

One of those annoying alarm clocks that require you to be active to shut off.
