Great to see someone with a darker shade of skin posting, thanks for this. Have you had any experience with “Cetaphil Dermacontrol Moisturizer” (SPF 30)? It’s specifically for oil control. I had a better experience with this one, rather than their regular Daily Moisturizer product. Again, thanks for posting for your results.

I found a Cetaphil moisturizer for acne prone skin that’s SPF 30.

I’ve definitely noticed less redness on my cheeks after using this in situations when I would normally get a little red just from walking outside for a few minutes, but if I’m going to be in the sun for longer I still definitely use something more heavy duty.

Woops! I was thinking of using an aloe vera moisturizer. Do you think that’s okay?

Also, do you recommend the 30spf one instead?

I use a cetaphil moisturizer with SPF 30 in it, I use it as my daily moisturizer and just re-apply if I’ll be outside. It’s reasonably priced for a sensative/acne prone skincare product (not sure if you have either of those issues though). Can’t really help on body because I only use body sunscreen if I’m at the beach or a pool, but I use this on my hands.

Hello all! Currently halfway through the 4th month of Accutane (120 mg a day) and I have a small question.

Is it better to use separate SPF and moisturizer, or is it ok if they’re the same product? I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that it’s better if they are separated, but I’ve never tried that because I feel like my face would be a greasy mess : /

I’m currently using this SPF+moisturizer, if you’re wondering.

This Cetaphil SPF 30 is my favorite, I can’t say enough good things about it. It’s gentle, doesn’t aggravate acne-prone skin, and keeps skin moisturized for a long time.

I haven’t had any issues with my pores being blocked with using the No Shine Hydrator. I’ve also used Cetaphil’s dermacontrol and liked it as welll (http://www.amazon.com/Cetaphil-Dermacontrol-Moisturizer-Fluid-Ounce/dp/B006L2137U/ref=sr_1_2?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1370577241&sr=1-2&keywords=oil+free+non+comedogenic+moisturizer)

Yeah my course was from January to June in 2015 and I’ve been mostly acne-free since. I went from a breakout every few days to once every two months. Even when I do get one it’s incredibly small and goes away within a day or two.

My experience was pretty normal. I got the initial breakout a month into my course and..yeah that did suck if I’m being honest, but the results far outweigh what I was dealing with before.

I’d say the biggest side effects I got were dry eyes and dry skin on some parts of my body..nothing that a few topical treatments couldn’t fix though. The things you should worry about are your lips and face. Sunscreen is a must during the course because sunlight can give you pretty bad scars. I used this moisturizer/sunscreen for most of my course. For your lips I’d recommend lanolin over anything else. Seriously – nothing works like this stuff.

I use Cetaphil Dermacontrol. It moisturizes my face and protects me from the sun while also helping to keep my oily skin under control.

This other Cetaphil moisturizer is pretty great, too, and it has a higher SPF.

I used this for the first four months of my course and then used (and still use) the biore aqua rich watery essence 50 spf

I don’t think that you should stop taking the meds during your vacation since you’re really close to being done with it. Call you dermo and ask them.

As for sunscreen, I like the Cetaphil Dermacontrol Moisturizer SPF 30. I’ve been using it for 3 months now and I love it. You might want to go with higher SPF though if you’re gonna be spending most of your day on the beach. I haven’t tried this but I’ve heard good things about it. I can’t really recommend body spf as I don’t really use them. I’m covered completely by clothes everyday so… yeah. But the minimum SPF you should be wearing on your body is 50.

My last piece of advice would be for you to stay hydrated and try to stay under shade most of the time. Even when you’re on the beach, try to be under those big umbrellas. Don’t even THINK about tanning! Good luck and have fun 😀 I’m jealous -.-
