Because, when I struggle to sleep, and I open my eyes, there’s nothing there but darkness. It’s kinda cupping your eyes, so there’s no pressure, or the feeling that you need to keep your eyes closed because of the mask. You can just stare into darkness, and might as well just close your eyes again and try to sleep.
