There’s a bluetooth keyboard made by Brydge that basically makes the Surface Pro 3 and onwards into a laptop, I use it for my 2017. It’s kinda heavy though but it does what you describe without using any adapters. I just looked on amazon and there’s an updated one for the Pro 6, looks like it comes in a few different colours:
