I have around 20 models complete and it’s been a year since my last model I made. Got slightly burnt out and had a poor work station. In my new apartment I just moved into I got myself a proper desk set up and grabbed this from Amazon which was a HUGE help – https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016LTTS8S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&th=1
I think it was harder for me because I had taken so much time off. Got frustrated a few times. This model insisted on folding too many flaps when I just rotated. I’m happy with the outcome. I tried to modify the passenger door to close but it was slightly bending the door and I didn’t want that.
Overall, I’m happy with it and honestly the feeling of competition is worth it.

I recently picked up a Brightech Lightview PRO (Amazon US link) and it works great for me. It’s not a standing lamp though, it has a clamp and a boom attached. Also has a magnifier though I haven’t used it much, even the tiniest of decals are big enough for me (so far).
It’s very bright, and it has enough articulation that I can usually get more light than I could ever need exactly where I want it.

One thing I put on my work bench that I don’t think I could do without now is a magnification lamp. One like this or similar. So useful.

I dont think you’re gonna get much for 50 bucks. It’s such a specialty piece of equipment. Maybe consider a lit magnifying lens?
I use that pretty happily. I’ve tried document cameras and usb microscopes, but the motion latency is too high screwing up your hand eye coordination, it’s just a waste of money.
