They do make a automatic one with built in grinder for the best of both worlds since grinding the night before loses some freshness. Somewhat expensive though, although as much as a good keurig.
- fill auto-drip machine with water
- place paper filter into basket
- scoop pre-ground coffee into filter
- turn on the timer button so the coffee will make itself in the morning
- go to bed & sleep
- wake up and drink coffee immediately
I’m really glad that I haven’t acclimated my taste buds to really awesome coffee. I buy relatively fresh beans from local roasters and let them grind it for me. I am really loathe to give up the auto-brew timer. I have zero willingness to get up and hand-grind coffee beans for anyone. We drink at least a litre of coffee by noon.
I’m considering getting the Breville YouBrew. It may not be a Techivorm, but it might be good enough for me.
edit: link fix
I recently came across this sub and I want to invest in something good but I admit I am lazy and want to just push a button and have everything done. The aero press isn’t for me as I like multiple cups at a time. I right now have a perculator but it is super annoying to clean all the time. So my question is what are your thoughts about the Breville?
Breville makes a combo grind and brew, but I don’t think it’s quality is actually the best.
The recommended drip brewers here would be the Technivorm or the Bonavita Dripper both of which actually get up to the proper brewing temp, neither of which have the programmability you want. The recommended grinder to go with them would be the Encore.
I have the the Breville 600XL and it works great for single cups and for full carafes. It has a single cup option that lets the coffee steep for 4 mins before it pours the cup. It also has a 1/2 pound coffee holder and burr grinder. I really love the machine it works great.
