If noise-cancelling is required, then you should go for the Bose QC35. I know it is a bit of a downgrade given the features that the MDR1000X have, but it is quite the pair. I have been using them for quite a while and they sound really nice.

lol that would be pretty sweet. Are these the ones you have? They’re pretty pricey but if they last long-term, I don’t mind spending on them for future use cause I might need them for med school anyway. https://www.amazon.com/Bose-QuietComfort-Wireless-Headphones-Cancelling/dp/B01E3SNO1G/ref=sr_1_1?s=aht&ie=UTF8&qid=1500568707&sr=1-1&keywords=bose+quietcomfort+35

Thanks for responding. I just looked at both of those, and they look like a good combination.

I did a little checking around a local electronics store and saw the Bose QuietComfort 35 headphones. I tried them out in the store, and they seem to be comfortable.

They’re pricier than what you recommended, but I’d be willing to buy them if it would fit my situation. Do you have any experience with Bose headphones, or even this set?

Otherwise, I might go with your suggestion. I’d like them mainly for listening to music, but I also have an electric instrument that I wouldn’t mind using them with, and a gaming setup I would use occasionally.

For no-compromise active noise cancelling headphones, the Bose QuietComfort 35 are unmatched. They don’t block out all sounds, but they block out all ambient noise. I find it a lot easier to study with these on.

I’ve bought things from Amazon’s european sites before at cheaper rates. I snagged some headphones from Amazon Spain for a lot less than what Amazon UK were asking. It shipped from spain too but I had prime so delivery was free and only took a day or two. It would be great if there was an extension for that.

Example:

Amazon UK £317

Amazon Spain €309 or £271

Firstly, you are so insanely incorrect about the re-sale value. Secondly, if you do your research, you will note that Series 1 + Series II are the exact same product, less voice command. Sound/Noise Cancelling is the exact same.

New

Used

  • $289 – Ebay – 46 sold / 5 available

  • $289 – Ebay – 8 sold / 1 available

  • $258 – Ebay – 01 sold / 01 available – Horrible condition

Thirdly, no one is forcing you to whip out your credit card.

Lastly, I’d argue that you are so far past incorrect that one could actually make a profit from this purchase price, upon sell out.

This is what I use on Xbox and I feel like I’ve had a significant advantage from day one… Sunk some money into it, but beautiful all around headphones so they aren’t just a single purpose:

Bose QC35-I

Bose In-Line Mic Cable (this set up specifically requires the Samsung/Android version of this cable)

Xbox One Controller Stereo Headset Adapter

Would these not be exactly what you’re looking for, without the additional adapter?

If you order them directly through Amazon.co.uk, they take them back no questions asked … even long after the 30 days.

Kind of late to the party here, but it looks like Bose is advertising 20 hours on the QC35 and 35 on the QC25. https://smile.amazon.com/Bose-QuietComfort-Wireless-Headphones-Cancelling/dp/B01E3SNO1G/ref=dp_ob_title_ce

Currently I have a bit of a situation. The headphones I currently have (Vmoda) are seriously hurting my head (and ears) and I definitely need more comfortable headphones. On top of that I’d like to have some that help keep noise out while I sleep since I work the graveyard shift and sleep during the day but the house can get quite rowdy so i’d like for them to be noise cancelling. I went to best buy and tried out the Bose Quietcomfort 35 wireless headphones noise cancelling black and they felt great on my head but were fairly expensive. I just wanted to see if there were other options comparable to them before I take the plunge.

-Budget – $300 but a little flexible
-Source – Gaming Computer
-Requirements for Isolation – I would like noise cancelling headphones
-Will you be using these Headphones in Public? Probably just at home on gaming computer
-Preferred Type of Headphone – On ear preferred
-Preferred tonal balance – Smooth Midrange, surround sound.
-Past headphones – Vmoda I have no idea what type these headphones are but they are seriously hurting my head/ears. Too tight no matter how I adjust them. I hate them so much
-Preferred Music – Rock
-What would you like to improve on from your set-up – Better comfort, surround sound, noise cancelling.

This thread is posted nearly every day. Bose QC35 are the best headphones available and not just for VR. They are also the most comfortable headphones available – QC stands for quiet comfort after all.
