I used vibes at a concert once, and they were great but I didn’t find they helped enough with everyday sounds. I saw someone else in a different post mention they would recommend them for day to day though, so it’s possible they could help you.

I saw a post on a different subreddit about these earplugs called Loop that are supposed to be comfortable to sleep in but I’ve never used them so can’t vouch for them personally.

I’m afraid I don’t have any other recommendations for something cheap to use while sleeping.

I’ve tried a bunch of cheap and mid-range noise canceling headphones and Bose 700s were the only ones that both helped cut out a decent amount of noise but also didn’t put too much pressure on my ears or head. These have made a Huge difference in my daytime quality of life but they’re super expensive and can’t be worn while sleeping.

Good luck!

I have SPD (and ADHD) and have lived with ADHD partners my entire adult life and this sounds exactly like my experience. I’ve literally had conversations with my therapist where I’m like, I love my partner and love when they get excited and talk loud but at the same time it is also really painful?! And listening to them eat a sucker makes me want to murder them?!?! 😅

Noise canceling headphones have Changed My Life. I bet they would help your partner a ton. I literally can’t hear my partner eat suckers anymore and so many sounds are less jarring (like cupboards).

For the early morning issue, some ideas:
A quiet fan (like this Honeywell) might offset the noise that your partner makes in the room.
Alternatively, for a while when my partner had a crazy different schedule than me, they kept clothes in the linen closet outside our room so that I wasn’t disturbed as much.

Good luck!
