Bonavita Connoisseur 8-Cup One-Touch Coffee Maker Featuring Hanging Filter Basket and Thermal Carafe, BV1901TS, Stainless Steel, Chrome https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076PFMRGX/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_HG4XNZKG7NSSKE052CN5

SCA certified still works great for me after 2 years of near daily use.

The coffee maker has a pour drip head design and the water is not even close to be hot enough. Water needs to be 195 to 205. Drip head should be like a showerhead. Try this coffee maker.

One tip for this machine. After filling coffee maker I like to prewarm my carafe by filling it with the hottest tap water I can get at my faucet. If you have any possibility of hard water make sure you run white vinegar through your coffee maker every month.

I don’t have the one with the thermal carafe, but this one is recommended by The Wirecutter and has a smartly dumb switch: https://www.amazon.com/Bonavita-Connoisseur-One-Touch-Featuring-BV1901TS/dp/B076PFMRGX

It will turn itself off after brewing (mine with the glass carafe is an hour and a half with the burner on; insulated will be right after I think), and resets itself when it loses power too, both of which are good for my usage – no chance of leaving the burner on all day, and no chance of it turning on when it hasn’t been loaded.

Hi, I was thinking of purchasing the Bonavita. Do you have any thoughts on the 1900TS vs. the new 1901TS?

I’m a little hesitant to pull the trigger because while most reviews seem to claim both models make good coffee, there’s consistent complaints about the carafe being bad, the thing making a mess and the coffee not staying hot enough in said shitty carafe.

>Do the higher priced auto makers produce better tasting coffee?

They can, yes. Look for sca certification. Basically means someone who may or may not have full credibility has certified it will stay in its optimal temperature enough to make a good cup.

Here’s 2 options I look at. Are they thw best for the price? I don’t know. But they seem to both get good reviews from everyone.

This one has a 2-4cup and 5-8cup option

I have this bonivita and it has been great. I have no experience with a cheap drip machine as the bonivita is my first machine but I would recommend it.

might i suggest something with less features? how about a bonavita? they are certified by the SCA and they do excellent coffee. if you get a baratza encore and find the right grind size, you both might love it.

the bonavita

the baratza encore

any coffe grinder below the pricepoint of the baratza encore isn’t worth it IMO
