All of this was delivered to my doorstep via DHL courier (except the case and cable by some 3d party courier in a big truck), we had no VAT implemented at the time so the customs randomly charged you ~1 to 5% depending on the item value, most of the times they did not, the only extra flat charge was by the bank for foreign currency exchange benefit (2.5% of total amount by card) and currency exchange fee, but as of today I believe UAE has a 5% VAT charge on importing goods from abroad, I think this charge will be included in the shipping calculation in Amazon, for instance I made an order 4 days ago for a new wireless mechanical keyboard (my GMMK died after 3 years)

Order Summary
Item(s) Subtotal:$49.99
Shipping & Handling:$21.21
Total before tax:$71.20
Estimated tax to be collected:$0.00
Import Fees Deposit$3.56
Grand Total:$74.76
—————————————
Therefore the import fees deposit is the sum of $71.20 + 5% (Oman recently implemented import VAT on more applicable merchandise by category) = $3.56
So it seems Amazon is taking care of this estimation on our behalf now and handles the deposit by itself with the courier companies which is very convenient for us…and the governments, I believe UAE also has a 5% VAT on certain goods.

Q- Has anything failed or broke until today?
– No. Everything is operating smoothly, PC usage is up for at least ~11 to 15 hours per day since day 0 build.
I’m a software engineer and at that time this investment was just what I needed and even by today standards its still a good all rounder, expecting it to last the next 7 years before I make any radical changes.
Today with your budget I believe you have much better choices minus the GPU (depends on your intentions), an AMD build seems to be budget friendly, I recommend the following resources to better think through your build:
https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/
https://ssd.userbenchmark.com/
You can always sign up on Amazon and throw parts you need in the cart and have a look at the total shipping fee, I can only tell you from experience that its legit.

I’m complete noob but would like to buy mechanical keyboard. I’m looking for something quiet, wireless, and small (I think 60% is what it’s called?). I don’t game, but just dying for something nice to type with (I’m a writer, so it will get a lot of use). My budget is about $100 but I’m okay with going a little outside of that — I’d like to buy something that will last and is nice but not super expensive or something that comes with a bunch of features or things I don’t use.
I had this one recommended to me: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JYRFJ67?th=1&fbclid=IwAR1rhhMifBlr-IoMkDakj-FRjhWGMYb5ZkEPsoFS0XOW94DYg1tzw2ow8wg
and I also like this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B8DS585/ref=ewc_pr_img_2?smid=A3E77W1MOSAP85&psc=1
does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts? appreciate it in advance!
