Here it is
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A0EAYDI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_lTtdCbHCK508C
Really comfy (very important for long movies and games)
Very long battery life
Aptx so no delay when it comes to movies and games
You can pair two to each aptx transmitter (another one for my wife)
Wireless and wired so if the battery is dead I can just correct it to my Roku remote and continue to use them, or run a cable to the receiver.
Overall they’re great value for movies but if you use them for music as well you might want to get a different pair.

I use Avantree wireless headphones and have few complaints. They’re a little loose but don’t fall off. After 4 years of use the low battery sound (a mild beep beep) sometimes kicks in but goes away and they still work for a solid 6 hours or so.

Budget – $300USD if needed, prefer to keep it sub 200.
Source – BT
Requirements for Isolation – Not required, but really would like to dip my toes into this someday.
Will you be using these Headphones in Public? Yes, but I don’t care about what I look like, or really even what the headphones look like.
Preferred Type of Headphone – Fully over the ear and comfortable
Preferred tonal balance – Slightly bass-heavy, but not at the death of everything else.
Past headphones – Avantree https://www.amazon.com/Avantree-Wireless-Bluetooth-Foldable-Headphones/dp/B01A0EAYDI?th=1 And for my PC, I use a set of Sony MDR7506
Preferred Music – EDM and Spoken Word are what I spend my time listening to. I listen to a lot of podcasts and EDM when not listening to spoken word.

A few side-notes: I also take a lot of calls, and having something that deals with wind and background noise would be nice. My Avantree’s were terrible at this.

A longer battery life is a huge QOL thing for me. I’m very mobile and don’t like short battery lives.

Headphones I’ve considered so far: Bose Soundlink II, Senn HD 4.50

Comfort is somewhat of an issue, I often wear headphones for hours a day.

Mic is required.

Not sure how keen you are to bluetooth headphones, but I recently got a set of Avantree Audition Pro and I love them. Sound is great and they are comfortable, even after long hours.

Hey guys, I’ve been using my xiaomi hybrids for a while now and wanted to get a pair of over ear headphones.

Budget – ~$70 flexible

Source – Laptop and phone

Requirements for Isolation – I want some isolation, though I’d use them and home

Preferred Type of Headphone – full-sized over ear

Preferred tonal balance – I enjoy my bass, but I’d be fine with a balanced profile

Past headphones – xiaomi hybrids (earbuds), I like them because they have some extra bass. They just sound really nice overall. I’m not
an audiophile so sorry if my description is lacking

Preferred Music – I normally listen to trap or dubstep. I’ll also listen to violin and other classical instruments. I know those are two sides of the spectrum. I’d rather have bassy headphones than balanced, only if the treble isn’t weakened.

What would you like to improve on from your set-up – More detail and bass, but I don’t want it overpowering

I’ve gone through the guide and also found a few headphones on my own. This one has been my favorite.

For ballin’ on a budget you will want to look at headphones that have the Qualcomm® aptX™ LL codec. These have a latency of around 40ms (1 frame @ 24fps). You can get a pair off Amazon for around $60. I have tested these for an engineering project and they were the best bang-for-the-buck – https://www.amazon.com/Avantree-Wireless-Bluetooth-Foldable-Headphones/dp/B01A0EAYDI. But any option that uses the same chipset and codec will work. Be wary – aptX HD is not low latency, and will incur a delay of around 150-200ms – too much for use with sync sound. You may also need an aptX LL transmitter, which you can buy for around $40 – https://www.amazon.com/Avantree-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Wireless-Headphones/dp/B01N5KKUR0. Bonus is you can take this home and use for TV or other stuff where sync needs to be “close enough.” Hook it up to your camera when you shoot and ditch the tether if the sound man doesn’t have Comteks.

Other options include oldschool RF and 2.4G technologies, which tend to be more expensive or harder to find. Something like these Sennys should do the trick – https://en-us.sennheiser.com/wireless-headphones-home-audio-rs-175

I bought the Avantree Audition Pro for my hard to hear wife (I wish I was sooo blessed, lol!) and they seem to work very well.

You may also need a fast BT transmitter. I got this one and it seems to work well.

Still probably best to use a cheaper wired option imho. Maybe just get a longish headphone extension cable and tape it to your cv1 cable.

Just looking through boxing day sales. Can’t comment on the quality, maybe others can.

From Mwave we have:

Sony RF9995RK $99 Ratings are pretty brutal though.

Edifier W828NB $99 as well.

Amazon Avantree AS9P $100

Avantree Audition Pro – you’ll want the “Pro” not the normal version.

Avantree Low Latency Adapter – I own this one, can attest to its performance.

Avantree Low Latency Adapter (2020) – New release, haven’t used it.

Both available on Amazon, total price is around $120.

Over ear, very lightweight, very affordable, fantastic battery performance, amazing sound quality – not too bassy, not muddled, great for a solid EQ. Been using mine for the last 4 years with no issues. I use them everyday for about 8 hours a day. Noise canceling headphones have always fucked up my EQ. I normally wear these and have some sort of white noise in my office.

Good luck.

Many/Most find the latency in BT even Aptx unacceptable in video/gaming. However the APTX LL (Low Latency) protocol brings this down to generally acceptable levels but both the transmitter and receiver must support it. Somewhere around 40ms I beleive.

I have equipped our TVs and one gaming rig with Avantree products and find them very good and now all four members of the household have the Avantree Audition Pro headphones $70 and pair then with the Audikast $50 receiver/transmitters via an included optical cable. I find the audio performance much improved over 3.5mm connection. These are Dual Link capable so two headphones can be connected at the same time and still use LL, some transmitters fall back to standard when paired with more than one device.

Occasionally they will go on sale for $10 off and you can set up a camelcamelcamel alert.

My wife is the operations manager for 4 radio stations and has an airshift as well. All the processing equipment already introduces a delay so BT on top of that is unacceptable so everyone uses wired headphones. However with these the delay is manageable and she can use them.

There are other brands that use the Qualcomm APTX LL protocol as well, but these are the ones I have experience with. The headphones hold a charge for about 40hrs which is pretty good.

It is a hitchhiker’s guide reference lol. Headphones with support are rare, but Avantree has a pair. For transmitters the leaf is good or if you want 3.5mm input instead of USB Taotronics has one that can be used as transmitter or receiver.

I use Avantree’s bluetooth headset with the low latency adapter and it works just fine. It of course won’t work if I plug a standard bluetooth USB dongle in there since I think the special adapter uses a direct connection of sorts. Here’s a link to them to be specific if anyone is curious:

I need new headphones primarily for PC gaming.

The two I’m looking at are:

Avantree Audition Pro
and the
Superlux HD668B.

Any thoughts between the two? How does Avantree Auditoin Pro compare to standard?

Sorry to tell you but Bluetooth for the most part sucks for movies and even more for gaming. With movies you can put some delay to kinda fix it but it might be annoying to do so everytime i guess.

There isn’t much headphones (at least that i’m aware of) that comes with the codec Aptx Low Latency, the only codec worth using for movies/gaming.

I found This One that seems to be well rated but i’ve no idea if it’s any good. I guess they might be good for movies and some casual gaming but i doubt they would be good at everything, in particular for music.

The only one that i’m aware of and seems good for this particular use is the Amiron Wireless but as you can see it’s way over your budget.

Maybe get the Avantree that i linked for your movies/gaming and something cheap that fit your budget and music requirement, maybe the HD 4.40 ?

Good luck!
