These are actually $180, but they’re the only legitimate studio headphones I know of that have a wireless version. If you were able to save up a little more I doubt you’d be disappointed in sound quality.

Just be aware that Bluetooth will always induce latency (sometimes up to 100-300 milliseconds which when trying to say, play on a keyboard or drum pads can make it awkward to play since there is a noticeable delay between hitting the key or pad and hearing the sound), so if you’re trying to do live recording or playing it could get finicky, so make of that what you will

And just FYI, the wired version of these headphones are exactly $150

Thank you! What do you make of the Audio-Technica ATHM50XBT?

https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50x-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B07HKVCVSY/ref=pd_di_sccai_3/142-9982638-3809848?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00HVLUR86&pd_rd_r=4d136734-29a0-4f98-9ac8-55828649506f&pd_rd_w=PKffH&pd_rd_w…

Out of interest, what would happen if I put a TRRS cable into a trs connector? Wouldn’t the computer pick up the mic because it is receiving the mic signal even if the headphones don’t support it?
Thanks!

I would consider Audio Technica M50xbt its $180 usd on Amazon and has the luxury of being wireless but with the option for a wired connection as well.

They are more neutral sound wise but i go running in them while mainly listening to deep house, hip hop and a little bit of soul, i find the bass isn’t really lacking and the isolation is pretty good but if they are a bit bright and or the isolation isn’t quite where you want you could look into getting some replacement pads like Dekoni elite sheepskins later down the line to increase both bass and isolation.

Edit: and as others have mentioned you can normally set the source to mono in accessibility settings on both ios and Android.

This post is right on time.. I’ve been wanting to get some good headphones. I can really tell the differences when i play my music via phone, earphones, ipad and computer speakers… I have been doing some “research” for some headphones but i haven’t checked out my cart because i’m still browsing around..

Currently looking at Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT Wireless Bluetooth Over-Ear Headphones but i’m not sure if i want to go wireless or stick to wired headphones…

 • Budget – £200

 • Source 3.5mm jack on PC or ideally for use via bluetooth

 • Requirement for isolation – more would be better

 • Will you be using these headphones in public? – I may do from time to time, but it isn’t a big concern. I’d probably default to smaller in ear buds for public listening.

 • Preferred type of headphone – Full size over ear

 • Preferred tonal balance – an all-rounder ideally

 • Past headphones – only in ear, had the AKG bundled ones with samsung phones from the S8 and S10+, oneplus wireless buds.

 • Preferred music – Hip-Hop, some pop and R ‘n’ B. I produce Hip-Hop.

 • What would you like to improve on from your set-up? – I’d like to have some decent headphones to work with while I am producing, looking for something balanced enough that mixing won’t be swayed too much. I currently use a Razer Leviathan soundbar + sub to mix with but share a room with my girlfriend and want something I can use and not disturb her.

Currently looking at the Audio-technica M50X Bluetooth model. as it is at an almost all time low price and I have been aware of these headphones for a very long time. Thanks for any help!

I have a pair of ATH M50X-BT that I really like. They’re just M50X’s with an internal bluetooth adapter. They give good reproduction of details and isolation, although they are a bit bassy for some people. They’re BT 5.0 compatible for low latency listening, and have the option to run in wired mode with a 3.5mm cable (included in the box).

Here they are for $180 on Amazon

Buy off amazon or aliexpress, usually price is better

If you are really after it and are unwilling to wait for delivery, try Jaben, call and ask.

Alternatively go to price.com.hk and search

Also I hope you mean ATH-M50x BT version, because I’ve never heard of audiotechnica mx50

https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50xBT-Wireless-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B07HKVCVSY

$50 off $199 rn

(i strongly recommend if you want bt wireless just go with v-moda crossfade instead)

I personally am using the Audio Technica M50x BT
They also sell a version with a BT adapter (Renewed)
The Bluetooth versions have a built in mic, although I don’t know how well they sound from other players. I use it for gaming but I’m not into multiplayer.

 • Budget – $260 CAN (Canadian) – FIXED.
 • Source – LG V30 (Smartphone); Laptop 3.5mm also Bluetooth.
 • Requirements for Isolation – Home usage, not bothered too much about isolation.
 • Will you be using these Headphones in Public? NO
 • Preferred Type of Headphone – Full-sized – over the ear cans, Bluetooth capability
 • Preferred tonal balance – Balanced, but good enough bass too when its required, Critical listening balance.
 • Past headphones – I’ve only had cheapo Bludio T2 and Bludio F2, I like that they had bassy energy but didn’t like that they didn’t have that balanced studio finesse for critical listening. So this time I’m looking for higher quality headphones can that can use for critical listening.
 • Preferred Music – Jazz, ambient, progressive rock (Yes, Genesis, Porcupine Tree).
 • What would you like to improve on from your set-up – More separation of instruments and equally more exciting dynamism between the instruments without the usual cheap exaggerated bass. Basically, anything to improve critical listening in a balanced and exciting manner.
 • Location – I am a resident of Canada
 • What headphones have I already shortlisted considered (see below)?

1. Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT Wireless Bluetooth

$224 CAN

2. Plantronics Pro 2 Wireless Noise Cancelling Backbeat

$193 CAN

3. Plantronics BackBeat GO 810 Wireless

$122 CAN

4. Razer Opus Active Noise Cancelling ANC Wireless

$257 CAN

Somethings that pisses me off as a consumer is when retailers artificially raise the price of a product then dropping it significantly “on sale”. MemEx is notorious for doing this and I always price check and price beat every time I buy from them.

Your company also appears to do this. I was just on your website looking for a wireless over the ear headset when I saw your Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT (https://www.mikescomputershop.com/product/10555274) on sale for $100 off. Regular $350 on sale for $250!

Except you’re lying/dishonest. Amazon and Bestbuy are carrying it for a regular price $280.

https://www.amazon.ca/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50xBT-Wireless-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B07HKVCVSY

https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/audio-technica-ath-m50xbt-over-ear-bluetooth-headphones-black/13217383

No surprise MemEx has an inflated price of $330. https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX75008

Don’t do this shit.

Check out Focusrite bundles. You can get headphones, a mic and an interface inside your budget. Or go for some nice closed backs like the M50XBTs, they’ll be amazing: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07HKVCVSY/

>In short need the best wireless audiophile headphones for gaming, with an aux to connect a microphone and make a headset. I’ve decided to do this as most ‘gaming’ headsets are not worth the money and come with terrible mic’s anyway.. so I’ve heard Just get some open back audiophile headphones and you’ll be great. Need to hear footsteps and direction of bullets really well.

I know its difficult would be nice… if its basically impossible whats the best reccomendation you can give? I saw these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07HKVCVSY/ref=asc_df_B07HKVCVSY58454057/?tag=googshopuk-21&creative=22110&creativeASIN=B07HKVCVSY&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309964054975&hvpos=1o3&hvnetw=g&hvrand=471099379953121668&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006672&hvtargid=pla-555965993426&th=1&psc=1 which look awesome… What i don’t know is if they’re just good for music or are they good for gaming too that’s where I am struggling really.

If you don’t care about a mic for gaming, and just want an all around great pair of headphones for listening to music, movies, and games, then you can’t go wrong with the Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT

https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50xBT-Wireless-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B07HKVCVSY/

You can use it as wired or Bluetooth wireless.

If you need a gaming headset, then go with SteelSeries Arctis Pro or HyperX Cloud Flight:
