Based on that the M40x should be a good choice for you at the $100 and under price point. I can’t think of anything else to recommend. Here is a refurb for $77

If you can find the AKG K553 Pro second hand for under $100 they would work.
Also see if you can find some reviews for the Takstar Pro 82. It may be a bit more bassy than you want though.

yo you can get the m40x for 80$ (usually 100) right now , that would be my top pick ,GREAT sound for the price , detachable cable ,the isolation is good enough IN my opinion its not top notch but you can return it in 14 days if it doesn’t meet your requirements if u get it from amazon, the comfort is okay , its sweet if you can buy them another pads but i would try it first

Planning to get an m40x for portable use. Is this refurbished one trustworthy or should I go for new? Also, how does it compare to the 598’s soundwise?

Hmmm… an Audio-Technica ATH-M40X? If you don’t mind an Amazon “renewed” one, it’s even cheaper:

We all have to work for money. You can get a refurbished M40X for $86 on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016YKB8ZU/). They also sell fairly regularly for $70 or less on r/AVexchange.

So it’s a pretty decent package but I don’t like the microphone they give you.
I’d get the parts individually if you can.
The AT 2020 is…ok.
The CM25 is a no. The recordings I’ve heard of this mic are lackluster to say the least. My guess is because of its capsule. Capsule diameter of 22mm, is pretty dang dinky. Does that even qualify as an LDC?
I’d recommend the Neat King Bee It’s a $400 microphone that’s currently discounted to $99. Then buy a used or new Scarlett Solo.
The Neat King Bee imho rivals all $300 microphones including:
The Aston Origin
Rode NT1
AT 2035
Lewitt LCT 440 Pure
It’s basically the Blue Baby Bottle (currently $400) but for $99.
You can hear how it sounds compared to the Stellar X2 right here:

Your total cost?
Neat King Bee $99
Used Scarlett Solo $70 (including shipping)

Then tack on a good pair of headphones. Something like an M40x
Yes, you don’t get as much of the other stuff. But it’s better to get the best mic and solid headphones than the other stuff they throw at you.
Then if you can pay more, get the Dragonpad pop filter, some Amazon XLR wires and a mic stand and you’re good to go.
And honestly the Neat King Bee with a Scarlett Solo is good for any and all paid Voiceover. I’m not talking Fiverr. I’m talking Voice123 and Voices.com audio quality. It can go toe to toe with those guys in terms of audio quality.

the audiotechnica m40x would be a great option if you get them refurbished.

You can get the same headphones refurbished on Amazon for $77. If you don’t want to go lower, I’ll probably get these on Amazon.

That looks fine as well.
To reiterate, I saw no problems at all with your original parts selection. I simply offered a few options for consideration if you have time to catch a few things on sale.
To use myself as an example, on the workbench right now is a partially assembled rig for myself, as I too am due for an upgrade. I was able to put together a Ryzen 1700, X370 Crosshair VI, 32gb of Corsair LPX, GTX 1070, 650w Seasonic Flagship Prime, and an additional 2Tb Seagate for $1204.91. So there are bargains to be found.
M40x ‘s are also a good option. The stock pads are not great, so it’s typically recommended that they be changed out if they are going to be worn for extended periods of time, like when gaming. Here is my copy/paste recommendation for those:

I’m looking to get a headset for ps4. From research I think I’ve decided on
and
Is there anything else I’m missing? I think I need a Y splitter(?) but I’m posting here to confirm if I do or not and if I’m missing anything else.
I also wanted to know if anyone had a better headphone/mic combo for $100 or less.
Thanks for the help!

I’m currently looking at these two
MEElectronics Air-Fi Matrix2 AF62
At first I was thinking of buying the first one, but also saw that it doesn’t have bluetooth. I’m only buying the second one if its quality justifies it or if it is similar to the ath-m40x, and because I don’t know too much about this, I need your opinion on this. Thanks
