I have these headphones and use them multiple times a week at work during my lunch. They’re great. I’d advise getting a headphone case with these as a lot of people report breaking them really easily. This is only a bit more expensive and the case is great: https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M40x-Professional-Headphones-Headphone/dp/B00UG7QMPO/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1528824148&sr=8-5&keywords=m40x

Ok great thanks. I just pulled the trigger on this combo below, seems like a great deal. FWIW I run an Anthem MRX 720 with GoldenEar Triton 5s, so I know sound. Headphones are just a new area for me, I am pretty dissatisfied with the A50s…
How do these compare with say AKG 240? I realize one is open vs closed, but how sound quality wise?

Okay, I’m about 30 minutes in. First think I noticed is that they were a little tight, I have a big head and have never had over ear headphones before. I was able to fix that by bending them outwards. It may take some getting used to the pressure of big headphones.
I like the build quality of them. They look and feel well made.
Okay, let’s get to sound. I guess you should hear my headphone history first. Only ever bought one expensive pair of headphones. I had a set of bose in ears for about 3 years. All others have usually been the headphones that come with your phone. These are the best sounding headphones I’ve ever had. Good bass but it doesn’t overpower the rest of the sound.
I was going to get the HD558s but since they are open and I want these for work, I decided to get closed headphones. There is very little noise leak from these.
I paid $99 on amazon and got a hard case with them. I would buy again.

Gaming headsets are trash, as the other user pointed out. Get headphones or high quality inears (ear buds).
Even still, your peripherals are unlikely to simply delete noises from the game. Your CPU might be getting overloaded.
Or it could be the fact that White Noise actually broke game sound in the sense that verticality of audio (which was barely present beforehand) was actually for some reason entirely removed. You’ll notice this the most on Tower, where literally both floors sound like they’re the same floor. It also made for stupid circumstances where sound just doesn’t travel. Ash charges, sledge hammers, Zofia breaches. They just don’t make sound. It’s infuriating, but it’s just another thing that’s broken about Siege.

I know that these are pretty widely recommended, all closed with detachable cables:
Audio Technica M40x ($100):
Audio Technica M50x ($150):
(compared to the 40x, these swivel and a bit better sound AFAIK)
Sennheiser HD598 ($150):
Beyerdynamic Custom Pro ($150):

Pretty sure you can replace all of the ear pads. I personally just bought the Beyerdynamic Custom Studios, which are the Pros with better sound + velour pads. I personally picked theirs because they are known for their comfort and you can replace almost anything on those headphones, including the padded headband. You just snap it on/off.

Amazon often sells them bundled with a case for $99 total. Link
