I can completely relate to the painful itching and swollen cystic acne problems, mine showed up after I started T also. I’ve tried basically every wash and topical, and what I’ve found helps the most for the irritation is a good moisturizer. I just posted a comment about this on another post about cystic acne in this subreddit but I use this. It has soothed my skin so much and reduced the amount of cysts I have. It’s not a cure-all by any means but it makes it bearable. Less pain and inflammation = less cysts, it just breaks the cycle of inflammation. Take care.

I found it. You just gently rub it all over your face and jawline especially since that’s where cysts tend to pop up, twice a day after washing. Completely reduced the redness and irritation that the cysts caused and helped them heal faster. Give that a try and it might at least make it less noticeable/bearable until it either stops altogether or you can see a derm without breaking the bank.

Please update us!

I wonder if hyaluronic acid could help. It helps irritation, swelling and healing. Also concentrated CBD face oil could help with the pain and inflammation. It’s not a cure and won’t necessarily help the condition, but it could help the pain and irritation. And hydration helps avoid skin breakage and irritation, if that makes any sense.
Use a gentle cleanser like Origins Checks and Balances. It’s my fav, and I have hopelessly sensitive skin. I’ve used it for years. It doesn’t have a bunch of garbage in it.

Cleanse, use Hyaluronic acid, then follow with CBD face oil. (I use this.
Maybe it would help to get a set of hats to wear after applying the treatments, to keep everything in and other stuff out. To treat like bandages, so only wear the hat for one night and then put it in the wash. So you’d need a lot of hats. Lol. I think cotton would be best.

I don’t know what CBD will do to your skin since it’s different than mine and you have a condition I don’t have. All I know is that it’s helped my skin issues greatly.

I wish you all the best.

It’s tricky but try to eat mindfully. Do what’s called an elimination diet. I had to do it for other health reasons and it really helped my symptoms.
Not saying your acne is necessarily diet related, it could always be something else, but it’s good to give a try.

In the meantime, maybe getting a gentle cleanser, I use Origins Checks and Balances and I have super sensitive skin. It’s been amazing and it doesn’t have garbage ingredients. After washing, use hyaluronic acid from Amazon. and that could help the irritation, redness and promote healing. I also really recommend CBD oil for inflammation and as a moisturizer. I don’t know if it would cause you issues, I know some people break out from certain oils, but I have had zero issues with it and it’s made a pretty noticeable difference. I get mine from here. Its made for the face so should be okay. It helps with inflammation and pain, if there is any.

So. Step one is Origins, step two is smearing hyaluronic acid all over the face (not eyes) and then once that’s sunk in, use the CBD oil mixed with a little water. How I do it is (with freshly washed hands) add several drops of the CBD oil to wet fingers, wet the other hand and rub your hands together a little, so it should be oily water, not separating the fingers, then smear it all over your face so the oil feels even. Not on the eyes though.

I think a good point to make is to not to use the same washcloth several for days on end and to make sure you’re using clean pillow cases. So switch them out more often. This could help with the bacteria.

Also make sure you’re using a “Free Clear” laundry detergent so you can eliminate the possibility normal detergents causing/exacerbating your acne. “Free Clear” detergents are completely free of additives and irritants such as fabric softeners, dyes, colors, fragrances and brighteners.
They make drier sheets too.

I hope this can help a little.
