> they need taurine, arachidonic acid, vitamin A and vitamin B12

Cats do need these things. Popular vegan cat foods like Amicat contain all of them.

>In addition to Taurine, Ami food contains other essential nutrients that cats require including preformed Vitamin A and Arachidonic Acid as well as B Vitamins and other Amino Acids. Ami Cat also contains the right amount of magnesium to prevent the serious problems that can occur from its lack (hyper-excitability, soft tissue calcification, metaphysos swelling) or its surplus (uralthiasis and cystitis).

The things they mentioned are all already present in popular vegan cat foods like Amicat. You can order it online and have it at your door within a couple days.

Ami cat contains taurine

Why did you make a false statement without taking a few seconds to look this up?

Ami’s is what the healthy plant based cats I’ve seen have been fed.

If you fed your cats human meat or something else completely unethical they would eat that. If you fed your cats Ami-cat they will eat it too.

You were right from the start that you shouldn’t force your views on animals. You can make an educated choice to not do that.

I thought we are talking about vegetarian, not vegan cat food. As the link says you would have to be more careful to feed your cat vegan cat food, but it’s still possible.

I am not sure what you are going to do with it, but here is a link of vegan cat food you: https://www.amazon.com/AMI-Cat-16-5-7-5kg-pounds/dp/B018K4OG9I

Can I ask why you think cats need to eat meat?

When I ask that there tend to be three groups of answers:

The least informed people say “cats are obligate carnivores”, not even understanding that “obligate carnivore” is just a synonym for “needs meat” so nothing additional has been explained.

The group of people who know a little bit about the subject will claim that cats require taurine.

The most informed group of people will claim that cats require preformed Vitamin A, Arachidonic Acid, Vitamin D3, L-Carnitine, and the right amount of magnesium to prevent the serious problems that can occur from its lack (hyper-excitability, soft tissue calcification, metaphysos swelling) or its surplus (uralthiasis and cystitis).

These last two points are entirely true, cats do need to have all of these needs met, but there have been widely available vegan cat foods such as Ami-cat that have been on the market for over a decade now that meet all of these needs.

While it is easy for people to lie online, it is not difficult to find many people who claim to have been feeding their cats Ami Cat Food for years without issue. I have been able to locate a few pictures of veterinary blood test results that people claim are for their vegan cats.

EDIT: People are aggressively downvoting this while not adding any replies, so I’ll add that I do not have any cats, do not have any desire to adopt a cat, and do not feel that this point is particularly important to the ethics of veganism. My only interest in this subject is a desire to know the truth, and while public opinion is clearly on one side, the reasons that at least most of those people hold to justify those views don’t hold up to scrutiny.

When your point is that cats can’t get taurine, arachidonic acid, vitamin A, and vitamin B12, and not only are non-vegan vegan cat foods regularly fortified with taurine from vegan sources, but it would take you 15 seconds to look up popular commercially available vegan cat foods and verify that they contain all of these things in appropriate amounts, you end up sounding pretty ignorant on the issue.

>The absence of Taurine in cats’ diets can lead to serious diseases and/or death. Its presence in Ami Cat, together with the natural and healthy ingredients that characterize the product, keeps your cats in good health and fine shape. In addition to Taurine, Ami food contains other essential nutrients that cats require including preformed Vitamin A and Arachidonic Acid as well as B Vitamins and other Amino Acids.
