It can be very dangerous to over-heat a child’s room (in large part because they can’t fix the problem themselves). I’d rely on a more conventional solution, like an outlet with a built-in mechanical thermostat. Here’s one example. There are also plenty of electronic versions, which I’d still trust more than automation involving wireless links in this situation.
