Suggestions for big heads?

The ideal headphones for me are:

  • Over-ear
  • Closed back
  • Detachable wire
  • Above all, COMFORTABLE ON A LARGE HEAD.

I don’t care too much about sound, but comfort is paramount. The only headphones I’ve ever tried that fitted on my head were the AKG K44, and they’re perfect for me in every way, except that they don’t have a detachable cable and so I keep breaking them.

I’ve looked at the AKG K 240 and they’re semi-open. not ideal for me, but if I destroy my K44’s cable in the next six months that’s where I’ll go.

The alternative would be getting a Bluetooth headset, but every time I’ve tried them it sounded like someone was taking a shit in A minor.

I bought them from guitar center about 8 years ago for $20 (online price match) and they still work great. They sound great for the price. You don’t need $300 beats to get good sound.

Here they are on Amazon prime for $32. Well worth it for anyone looking for a decent set of headphones: AKG K 44 Headphones https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001K3ENEA/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_WYImwb7H5E4QY

The AKG K44s are quite cheap and provide very clear sound compared to the more expensive Turtle Beach X12s, Vengeance 1300s, LX-3000s and Asus Orion Pros I’ve used in the past. The only downside is that comfort wasn’t a top priority, but I’ve never found them any more uncomfortable after long sessions than any other gaming oriented headset I’ve used.
