I’ve had this for four years now and still use it all the time! It’ll kick everything else out there’s ass, Bose, JBL, whatever. If you really wanna go crazy buy two and they’ll link wirelessly in stereo. Amazing bass.

If you need more volume, I started using an Aiwa Exos-9 with my portable projector setup and it was a good upgrade over the Logitech THX set that I was previously using.

A little more expensive, but it does have a user replaceable battery, can pair multiple units together, and has bluetooth. Only complaint is that the bass comes in a little too strong.

If just using Bluetooth then like /u/butka said just get something else. For the same price you can get this more powerful and better rated system and I’m not saying the Sonos is bad. This will just have more headroom and give you more bang for your buck.

I’ve been using the Aiwa Exos-9 with an AUX cord and it never shuts off (While plugged in) and as a bonus, this speaker is far and away the best sounding speaker for it’s price range ($300) I’ve heard.

At least it was when I researched it last year when I bought it.

Even though it’s $300 the Aiwa Exos-9 is an AMAZING Bluetooth speaker.

Aiwa Exos-9

Just read all the reviews and youtube videos on it. I’ve had it for 5 months and love the crap out of it. I think I’m going to velcro my Dot to it when it arrives Tomorrow. 🙂

I’ve been using this for the past 6 months and it does a pretty good job. Adjustable EQ, and if your buddy gets one you can pair them for better surround sound!

I have the Xtreme 2. I was originally interested in the Boombox, but (imho) the xtreme sounded better despite the smaller size. The rave neo is great for it’s price, but if price isn’t a concern, I don’t think it compares well to the xtreme. Here’s a couple reccomendations worth looking at:

$320 Aiwa Exos 9 breaks your budget, but just give it a look, might change you mind.

$250 Sony XB43 sounds about the same as the JBL over an aux cable, but uses Sony’s proprietary BT Codec, that blows pretty much everything else away when playing from your phone.

$200 Audio Pro Addon t3

$250 Bose Revolve+

$304 Vifa Helsinki

Looks like it’s unavailable at the moment, heard it’s due to manufacturing troubles and Covid-19, damn.

The motion+ and motion boom are great for their price and size, but if you don’t mind spending a little more and getting something chunkier you can do better. Take a look at these and see if they’re up your alley:

$320 Aiwa exos 9

$200 Bumpboxx Ultra

$150 Audio Pro Addon T3

$250 House of Marley Bag of Riddum

Hey, what are you looking for in one of these? That sonos is great for critical listening at short distances (still overpriced though) but not sure it’s what you’d want for a wide open crowded area. Take a look at these, see if they work for you:

$350 Turtle box

$320 Aiwa Exos 9

$200 bumpboxx Ultra or $360 Bumpboxx Flare8

You can get better/louder if you are ok getting something bigger, but these are a good balance of loud, portable, and good sounding imo.

Aiwa Exos $329. Or at Amazon for $299. Two can also be paired together for left right stereo.

Aiwa Exos-9 ($300) gets good reviews, especially for bass. https://www.amazon.com/Aiwa-Exos-9-Portable-Bluetooth-Speaker/dp/B00WF78GS4

Best Buy also carries it.

I recently purchased one of these and have loved it so far.

If $300 is within your budget it’s definitely the best speaker I’ve found at that price.
