The Shield controller has a button which activates the Google assistant and also you can set it up to be always listening for “OK Google”.

For the signing in problem I have an air mouse tv remote which I use for the Shield and it has a full keyboard on the back it connects via a USB dongle, like this….

I got one of these. I don’t know how well it would work for playing games, but it does let me navigate my computer from the other side of the room.

Hi there! The setup is still going great for me. I don’t use it as frequently since the birth of my daughter, but I never have any trouble when firing it up after a while.

These devices handle BlueTooth / USB peripherals just as well as any computer only being limited by the number of USB ports, I personally bought this Air Remote that works like a dream for simple navigation: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H3K6PFD

I use this with 4 PS3 controllers paired to the device via BlueTooth and all 4 of them can simultaneously connect without conflict. There is currently a bug in the non-Windows versions of Parsec with some controller axis’ not mapping but the Parsec Team is working on that.

My host is a headless computer with a fitHeadless GS HDMI adapter (like $10). I run the resolution at 1080p60. My Thin-Client is hooked up to my HDTV at 1080p, I’m debating whether or not to get a 4k TV in the future so I’m going to be testing if the hardware acceleration in this chipset can support a 4k stream @ 60fps. (I should be able to test that without a 4k TV)

In a local LAN I forget that I’m streaming most of the time, definitely recommend ethernet over WiFi for the best experience. Good 5Ghz WiFi works well most of the time, but there’s the occasional WiFi jitter that’s hard to eliminate.

I have that remote. It feels really cheap in the hands and the directional buttons are too “clicky” for me. I’d recommend this one. Much more premium feel. It has an IR learning mode. And the keyboard works great.
