If you put the two next to each other and use a monitor switch, that’d work. They are called a KVM switch and are used in server rooms, so each server doesn’t need its own monitor:

if you only want to use the monitor/keyboard/mouse with one computer at a time, I’d get a KVM. connects to each computer with HDMI and usb, and has 1 HDMI output for the monitor and 1-2 USB ports for the keyboard and mouse. switches between machines with a button push.

I just got mine in and tested it out. It works flawlessly. There is zero lag also, and the switching keeps all the windows in place. Go ahead and get it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SX1BZGT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_E2AT5V36M6GHXKHKF9G1
I’m using a Cintiq 27”, between a MacBook Pro 2018 running Catalina and a Windows 10 PC.
What’s nice is that my dual monitor for my MacBook Pro transfers to the Cintiq screen over and keeps things intact while I switch over to the PC. Colors look spot on also.
It’s worth noting I’m not running anything that’s 4K or above 30hz.

Get a KVM switch plug both laptops into it, plug a mouse, keyboard and monitor into KVM and just push the button on the KVM to get to different machine
Just an example

What you’re looking for is a KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse, KVM) switch. Plug both computers and your peripherals into the switch, press button to switch which computer the peripherals are connected to. Something like this.
You may want to instead get separate HDMI/DisplayPort and USB switch boxes, depending on your setup. Or only get a USB switch box and use your monitor’s multiple inputs to switch video displays. Up to you.

For switching between the two can use a KVM switch like this https://www.amazon.com/Computers-Keyboard-Connections-3840×2160-Supported/dp/B07SX1BZGT/ , for the PC can use a regular HDMI cable and the USB A to B cable included, for the Macbook you can use USB C to HDMI + a USB C to B or a C to A adapter + the included cable, or if you want a single plug into the Macbook you could stick a USB C to USB + HDMI + USB C power in dongle inbetween like this https://www.amazon.com/uni-Multiport-Supports-Delivery-Compatible/dp/B081VBSNRZ

What you’re looking for is called a KVM switch. Be warned, they’re much more expensive and complicated than you would think if you need high resolution/refresh rates. This is a decent basic one: https://www.amazon.com/Computers-Keyboard-Connections-3840×2160-Supported/dp/B07SX1BZGT

So I tried out both the AIMOS one and the TESmart one. While the TESmart one is probably nicer because it has [email protected], I’m super happy with the AIMOS one and returned the TESmart. The reason for me returning it because when I switched, I wanted the Mac to go into dual display mode for my Cintiq and LG monitor, and then when I was in PC mode, the Cintiq would be dedicated to the PC and the LG dedicated to the Mac.
The only problem I’ve had with the AIMOS is that the USB doesn’t work when I switch with the Mac. It could very well be a cable problem, since I seldom use my Mac to draw with anymore, I’ve never bothered to troubleshoot it. I’ve had zero issues, and I never give it any thought whether the AIMOS works or not. Whenver Wacom releases (someday) new refreshes on Cintiqs, I plan on updating then, so the 4k thing will become a problem, but for now I’m happy with my little $30US KVM.
Edit: The AIMOS does support 4k, but only at 30Hz.

You bought a KVM ? I think.
But you probably need a video adapter ?
·
it sounds like you want to get a KVM. Good ones can get very costly, but here is something to help start on your search https://www.amazon.com/Computers-Keyboard-Connections-3840×2160-Supported/dp/B07SX1BZGT
I dont know if this is good, just did a quick search. research KVM to look for more options.

Maybe a KVM could be a solution for you?
It would only allow you to switch the keyboard and mouse, using it on one device at a time, so maybe not what you are looking for.
