If you’re dead-set on listening to music while cycling get a pair of Aftershokz so at least your ear canals are open and you can still hear what’s going on around you without having to subject everyone else to your music. Also the Memorial Drive path is garbage. Way too narrow and full of frost heaves.

Bone conduction headphones, and never look back. I have something like this and they are seriously clutch. When I run, I like to not have things in my ears – they fall out, and I want to be aware of my surroundings. It takes a little getting used to at first, but it’s seriously a game changer for me.

They’d be a lot cheaper to make than Airpod Pros. I know that doesn’t always translate to cheaper to buy.
These Aftershokz are arguably the best bone conduction headphones available. Bluetooth, long battery life, IP55. And there aren’t any fancy processing requirements for bone conduction.
There is also the accessibility angle. Someone with hearing impairment could use bone conduction versus traditional headphones. That means that they can now benefit from a lot of audio features on smartphones that we’d take for granted.
