Totally makes sense, my son has autism as well, so I’m familiar with a lot of these struggles.
We use this protector on our own bed just for sweat and stuff, I’m not sure how fluid resistant it actually is, but there’s no plastics sound that I notice. Maybe that on the mattress in combination with a topper?
