I second the Micca LRC recommendation. I have the MB42X and they are ~90% of the way to a great setup. They don’t sound as full or hit low frequencies like $500/pair speakers, but I would put it at the perfect intro speaker. These are also pretty easy to sell for ~$40/pair so it isn’t too much for a trial.
Two final notes on them.
1 — My theater is in my bedroom and I listen to music more than I watch TV. So I have much nicer Left and Right speakers because that is what my songs play from (KEF Q100).
2 — Remember that speakers have a break in period so they might not sound amazing right out of the box.
For surronds — I know I will get some shit for this, but I’m just starting out with 5.1/7.1/5.1.2 sound so I got these cute little things off Amazon. I haven’t tried them yet, but they seem to be a pretty solid intro speaker from the Amazon reviews.

If you have time to wait, you can save a lot by getting a used sub and receiver off Craigslist/FB Marketplace.
